UNDER WATER TOUR- SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE VESSEL IN OMAN

Oman | Expenses in Oman | Tourism | Tenders| Indian Embassy  | NRI | Jobs | Ministries| Links

The semi-submersible vessel Al-Khayran, will take visitors on an exciting ‘underwater tour’ of the coral reefs of Bandar Al-Khayran, Oman . Visitors can sit in air-conditioned comfort two metres below the water line and watch fish, turtles and other sea creatures. The semi-submarine will operate four trips per day 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm depending on the  visibility. On Weekend there will be five trips. 9am, 10am,1pm,2pm and 3pm. The whole round trip will take one to two hours.

The trip offers a unique opportunity to explore Oman’s underwater scenery, experience close contact with nature and view the diverse marine life in its natural habitat. Bandar Al Khayran is famous for its breathtaking beauty of wild beaches, coral reefs and exotic marine life.

Unlike conventional submarines, Semi-submersibles do not dive completely underwater but remain on the surface, allowing passangers to explore sea life through large, clear glass windows while seating in air-conditioned comfort two meters below the water.

The trip starts from Marina Bandar Al Rowdha, where passengers embark on a fast transfer boat to undertake a half-hour trip to Bandar Al Khayran. On the way the boat passes the most picturesque sites of the Omani coast line, the villages of Al Bustan, Qantab, Yiti, Shangri-La’s Bandar Al Jissah Resort and Al Bustan Palace hotel. There is a good chance, depending on the season, of spotting dolphins or even whales on the way to Bandar Al Khayran.

Once on board the semi-submersible one comes face to face with the wonders of the underwater world. Passengers will witness many species of underwater life, colorful display of corals and different types of reef fish as well as discovering the unusual rock formations that are thousands of years in the making. The whole two- hour trip is full of opportunities to witness the beauty of Oman’s marine life and gain a truly memorable experience
