The School of Business Studies of Bangalore University (www.bangaloreuniversity.ac.in)
offers the five-year, 10-semester Master of Business Studies (MBS) for those who
pass the PUC/Intermediate examination with 50 per cent marks. The primary intent
has been to nurture and develop youngsters to become effective business managers
and entrepreneurs.
The programme has brought in various disciplines on the same platform, and some
of them are Commerce, Management, Information Technology, Economics, Law,
Mathematics, Statistics, and Communication. The programme offers specialisation
in the areas of Banking and Insurance, Accounting and Taxation, Human Resources
Management, Financial Management, International Management and Marketing
Management. It also has the Business Lab which helps blend the finer theoretical
aspects with the practicalities required for the corporate world. The MBS
programme has many seminars, group discussions, assignments, role plays,
industrial visits, and brainstorming sessions which help the students to get to
the finer aspects of management.
