Author: mahnoor: Let's face it. The recession is not the best time to be job hunting, especially if you are a fresher with no experience. Huge unemployment figures translate to huge competition and getting your resume noticed over the masses can become quite hard. Taking AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) training and adding a certificate to your resume can give it just that boost.

There is a huge market still for design and drafting jobs even in this slow economy. It's a popular misconception that computer aided design tools are used mainly by companies dealing with art, design or publishing. Today, these tools are used across the board by many businesses to maintain in house publications, design and drafting needs of huge corporations that otherwise don't deal in design. This means at any given time there are at least a few thousand job openings for CAD professionals. All of these jobs require knowledge of some design application software or the other. AutoCAD, being Windows based is most popular among these and makes for a most desirable skill to have. And it's possible to get AutoCAD training at a very low cost or even for free.

If you are wondering whether it's worth the investment, then there are two arguments to its favor. One, there is big demand for AutoCAD professionals in the job market and two, the duration of AutoCAD training can be as short as six days. You can pick up lot more than the basic use of this design application with these workshops. A certification may require a few more classes and an examination. Whether you have an aptitude for design or not, an additional skill can never hurt, especially while it is so kind to your pocket.

For those who are hard pressed for cash, it's possible to get AutoCAD training online for free. Simply Google "AutoCAD tutorials free". Most such tutorials are downloadable. If you are willing to spend a little more for a legitimate AutoCAD training, then there are discounted training materials available for students. While these courses are not comprehensive, they can help you lay a ground work for a proper certificated AutoCAD training. The basic knowledge gained from the free tutorials can spare you the additional cost of having to take the certification twice for a better score for free 3d models.

Coming back to AutoCAD training itself, the only requirement is that you are familiar with Microsoft windows, as this application runs only on Windows. There are a number of institutes that provide AutoCAD training. But if you are planning to invest on a course, make sure it's an Authorized Training Centre. AutoCAD training can teach you to design, draft and coordinate multiple designs; create 2D or 3D design free 3d models, imprint and publishing management of such design etc. On an advance level it is possible to learn to be an AutoCAD software developer and to be involved in the development of the application itself. This may be of interest to software professionals interested in this line.

In the end, it all boils down to how AutoCAD training can be used in your professional life to earn more money or advance your career. Basically any field where the virtual design or draft of any machinery, flow of development of a project or even biochemical structures need to be presented, will need the use of CAD tools. Let's look at possible career fields for AutoCAD professionals - Industrial design - design of machinery etc, Interior design - a diagrammatical representation of proposed enhancements to any living space, architecture or construction - planning layout of houses or buildings, engineering - civil, mechanical or even electronic for more 3d max models.

While AutoCAD professionals can look for a job in these fields, professional in these fields can also add AutoCAD to their resume to give in added edge. With a career scope spread so wide, getting a job after you AutoCAD training should not be too hard.
